What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of treatment focusing on the health of the musculoskeletal system - bone's, muscle's, joint's and ligament's. Pain, pins and needles, swelling and immobility might indicate when these tissues are in poor health.

Osteopaths are skilled practitioners who train for five years learning to assess the  movement ability of the whole body.

We use techniques such as massage, mobilisation and manipulation which intend to restore balance and motion potential to the structure of the body - assisting your mind and body to perform and feel better.

We use some diagnostic procedures used in conventional medicine but the main difference is the unique way the patient is assessed through the expression of his or her physicality.

Poor motion in the body can also disturb the internal organs such as in the digestive and respiratory systems.

Treatment is tailored to suit individual needs in response to the practitioner’s  developed sense of touch and the patients medical history.
